I explore how seriousness can loosen, how monuments can become playful, and how familiar forms can feel newly strange.
I am drawn to rules we set ourselves or by the elements not to preserve them entirely, but to nudge them into moments of delight, surprise, and absurdity.

The Unscheduled Library

DESCRIPTION
This library is conceived as a pause within the fast rhythm of Boston’s South End — a place where busy professionals and families can slow down, lounge, and engage with reading without urgency. The design uses two inhabitable curved solid volumes to shape movement while freeing the rest of the plan as an open, accessible public landscape. Representation became part of the design process itself: by borrowing the graphic language of IKEA assembly manuals and the visual tone of construction drawings, I treated the library as an object to be understood through its assembly, helping me explore the relationship between concrete and steel construction. This object-based perspective also carried into the renderings, where everyday objects rather than people suggest occupation, allowing the architecture and atmosphere to remain the focus.
